MOODBOARDING & SKETCHING

Created a moodboard proposal to present the message behind the poster as well as design choices like typography.

Sketched a variety of potential layouts for the design as well as workshopped how the message would be presented in each.

PREPARING MATERIALS

Made sure enclosure was as clean as possible to not inhibit the photo and limit believability.

Cut letters out of red bell peppers to create physical type placed within the terrarium to fully immerse the viewer.

PHOTOGRAPHING

Worked with digital photography via a DSLR and phone camera to produce the best visuals possible from a variety of angles.

Experimented with different times of day to find the most active time for the isopods, while still being able to capture a high quality image.

FINAL EDITS

Edited the final image to create a cohesive background, but ensure the organic nature of the set up was preserved.

Added in self-written copy to further develop the message, using the physical elements of the image as support.

PRINT

Worked with a print lab to ensure proper materials and sizes were utalized in production.

Followed proper file submissions inlcuding margins and trim marks to allow for precise trimming via exacto knife.
